Job Description:
Staff Engineer - Electrical for Stryker Corporation in
Kalamazoo, MI to advise teams and conduct research, development and technical
studies, and perform a wide variety of technical work that leads to new and
improved products and product lines under marketing, cost, time and
regulatory construction. Perform a wide variety of technical work in
planning and design of products and components and in the development,
application and approval of design modifications to increase production quality
and quality. Plan and conduct engineering research, design,
development and manufacturing engineering projects. Monitor and control progress
of projects to ensure use of sound application of engineering
principles and consistency with design intent. Coordinate with other units,
vendors and senior managers to ensure specific cost, time and regulatory
standards are met. Communicate with customers to resolve product issues and
coordinate on special orders. Maintain administrative authority for
engineering drawings, bill of material (BOM) and engineering change orders.
Submit periodic reports on assigned topics to appropriate personnel.
Evaluate the results of projects and provide manufacturing guidance and
assistance. Requires: Bachelor's degree or foreign education equivalent in
Electrical Engineering plus four (4) years of experience performing
electrical circuit design and troubleshooting or, alternatively, a Master's degree
and two years of experience as noted above. Specific skills/other
requirements (quantitative experience requirements not applicable to this
section): designing and developing electronics, Radio Frequency (RF)
products, test procedures and test fixtures in a Food & Drug Administration
(FDA) or other highly regulated industry; utilizing C/C++, MATLAB programming
for complex calculations and debugging for printed circuit board design;
working with complex electrical schematics, applying simulation tools to
troubleshoot analog and digital mixed signal electronics and utilizing
electronic lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, power supplies, network
analyzers, function generators and digital multimeters; utilizing Cadence,
LABVIEW, Agilent, UNIX electrical design and simulation tools to create
and direct schematic capture, PCB layout, PCB manufacturing and testing
specifications (2+ years); and performing quality assurance and manufacturing
activities (non-conformances, handling material and customer complaints,
supplier communication, equipment maintenance and calibration) in a
high-tech or Food & Drug Administration and cGMP environment, including
applying statistical techniques based upon medical device or other
regulated industry verification and validation requirements. Submit resume
