Job Description:

General Summary: The Associate Athletic Director for Compliance Services maintains a primary role in providing compliance and governance services for Western Michigan University coaches, staff, and student-athletes. This includes daily rules interpretations, ongoing rules education and student-athlete services in the areas of financial aid, eligibility, NIL and housing. Major duties: Primary responsibility for daily rules compliance activities and interpretations for coaches and staff members. Develop timely and comprehensive educational presentations and materials for coaches and staff members to promote awareness of current NCAA and Governance related issues. Direct the National Letter of Intent and Financial Aid Offer processes to create scholarship offers to be sent to prospective student-athletes and confirm signing of documents through NCAA portal. Monitor documentation of contacts, evaluations, correspondence, unofficial visits, and official visits throughout the recruiting process. Ensure appropriate coaching staff members receive the required rules education prior to their participation in off-campus recruiting. Assist with the WMU Name/Image/Likeness program in creating educational offerings and monitoring disclosures. Development and monitoring of playing and practice calendars for all teams including analysis of countable athletically related activities and time demands. Assists athletic department and campus personnel in evaluating student-athlete eligibility and monitoring financial aid. Other duties as assigned by the Sport Administration Team. Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Three years relevant experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of intercollegiate athletic programs, rules and regulations.
  • Experience with NCAA compliance.
  • Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including weekends and holidays. Desired Qualifications
