*POSITION: *Cannabis Cultivation Manager

*SUMMARY: *

The Cultivation Manager is responsible for managing cultivation operations and employees within the cultivation department. This includes, but is not limited to, maintaining GAP Standards/Certification, plant health, plant maintenance, irrigation, fertilization, IPM, facility maintenance, environmental data collection and reporting, post-harvest production, and order fulfillment.

*MINIMUM EDUCATION, LICENSING, AND EXPERIENCE: *
* Bachelor's degree in horticulture, agronomy, or a related field.
* Two (2) plus years of supervisory experience in cannabis cultivation.
* Two (2) plus years of experience in a large-scale commercial grow operation.
* Knowledge of workplace safety (OSHA)

*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: *
* Manage a large-scale commercial cannabis cultivation operation.
* Perform and/or supervise all required duties in the grow operation, including, without limitation: propagating; planting; watering; tissue culturing; cloning; transplanting; feeding plants; defoliating; cropping; topping; flushing; managing biosafety measures; trimming; packaging; disposing of waste; breeding; phenotyping; flower grading; and managing inventory.
* Supervises staff which includes; scheduling, training, providing daily directions and communication, conducting disciplinary actions, performance coaching, and providing constructive feedback.
* Works to build and maintain a strong culture within the department of accountability, efficiency, respect, professionalism, and dedication.
* Must oversee the cultivation procedures and nutrient protocols, keep accurate records, and present the results in a timely manner to the appropriate leadership members
* Maintains cultivation data including, but not limited to, environmental conditions, harvest records, cure records, and spray records.
* Follow company cultivation methods and work closely with the rest of the cultivation team to develop and improve processes.
* Inspect plants and working areas on a regular and consistent basis as to identify tasks that need to be completed, growth irregularities, and potential crop threats.
* Executes the company's IPM (Integrated Pest Management) practices established for the control of all types of pests and diseases.
* Oversees procedures to maintain a safe, sanitary, and compliant operation.
* Manage cleanliness and organization of all equipment present within the grow operation.
* Provides insight and communicates on Facility & Maintenance related matters to ensure the facility is operating for uninterrupted production and efficiency improvements.
* Manages and maintains Inventory Tracking System as required as well as ensures regulatory compliance throughout the department.
* Manage waste disposal according to industry standards and regulatory agencies.
* Works directly with assigned members of the Leadership team to ensure the quantity, mix and yield of strains planted and produced will support sales and production goals.
* Provides regular communication and collaborates with all department leaders to ensure entire operation flows according to SOPs and flow charts.
* Assists with managing cultivation budget and overseeing/ordering all cultivation supplies (i.e. growth nutrients, pest management products, pre-roll supplies, foliar sprays, lighting, etc.)
* Assists with planning, development, and implementation of SOPs (standard operating procedures) for all cultivation daily processes, including up to but not limiting, growth cycle processes nutrient regimens, inventory management, and cleanliness
* Assists with interviews of potential candidates and evaluates skills, experience, qualifications, and fit for the department
* Maintain in-depth knowledge of state cannabis laws and regulations.
* Comply with all company policies, including confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements.
* Be on call 24/7 to monitor growth room alarm systems.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

* Must be reliable, maintain good attendance, and self-motivated.
* Candidate must take initiative, be proactive, positive, enthusiastic, and able to learn quickly in a high-stress environment.
* Must be team oriented and able to work with a diverse group of people.
* Strong project management skills with an ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively under time constraints as necessary.
* Experience with various grow mediums and irrigation methods for indoor operations.
* Knowledge of crop management and commercial agriculture.
* Knowledge of plant diseases, pests and health.
* Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
* Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
* Basic aptitude with Microsoft Office and Google suite products.
* High attention to detail.
* Troubleshooting, business-sense, and leadership skills.
* Ability to speak effectively with leadership team.
* Proficient in English.

*PHYSICAL EFFORT NEEDED: *
* Must be able to lift at least fifty (50) pounds, be on feet all day, work in hot and cold environments.
* Must be able to walk, bend, kneel, and read and write numbers and letters.

*TYPICAL NUMBER OF DIRECT REPORTS: *
* Up to two (2) direct reports.

*ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: *
* Exposed to dust, dirt, mud, varying temperatures, varying humidity levels, varying light intensities, high decibel sounds, and some solvents.

*PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT: *
* Safety shoes, safety glasses, dust masks, ear protection, various types of gloves and spraying equipment, and biosafety equipment.

*TRAVEL: *
* Some travel may be required for training purposes and for staying abreast of industry developments.
