DescriptionCorteva Agriscience has an exciting opportunity for a
Production Planning Manager position based at the Constantine,

Planning Manager will supervise/lead and coordinate the activities
of Plant Operations Technicians in one or more production areas.
Generally required to be skilled in the activities of workers being
supervised and will perform the tasks of workers in the group to
maintain production schedule when needed. Monitors daily plant
activities and ensure time and quality commitments are
met.Leadership/Supervision: Review production schedules and
allocate team members to complete schedules. Make adjustments in
schedules using knowledge of machine capacities and equipment, and
worker capabilities. Assist in hiring temporary or part-time labor.
Encourage team participation and involvement. Ensure employees are
properly trained. Recommend and implement measures to improve
productivity, performance, product quality, methods, working
conditions, and efficiencies. Provide regular coaching and
feedback. Provide coaching and assistance to others on performance
management and develop plans. Analyze and resolve problems or
assist workers in resolving problems. Recommend personnel actions
and may carry out actions under guidance of Plant Manager.General
Plant Operations Activities: Help coordinate (and participate on an
"as needed" basis) all aspects of inventory planning and
management. Inventory tracking and flow of inventory stages.
Establishes production schedules for all plant production
activities. Balance labor, assets and schedules to meet volume and
financial targets. Helping to coordinate harvest activities such as
truck capabilities from green corn through bulk. Monitoring product
quality and ensuring activities meet the needs of the Quality Plan.
Helping manage bulk and packaged seed inventories. Assisting with
product movement activities.Teamwork and Communications: Develop
and maintain good communication and rapport with plant personnel,
employees from other Corteva plants or departments, growers,
vendors, etc. Work with other leaders to coordinate workflow and
coordination or resources between departments. Participate in
location meetings. Serve on both plant and other Corteva teams as
assigned.Risk Management: Attend safety meetings and complete
required safety training. Ensure others complete required training
and enforce safety regulations. Manage risks during performance of
job duties. Recommend and implement safety and operational
improvements.Planning and General Administration: Provide input and
assistance to supervisor when planning capital and operational
budgets. Provide input for workforce planning and development,
scheduling, and development of annual business plan. Complete and
maintain appropriate records, documents, or reports (production
records, grower records, inventory records, etc.). Assist with
accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll record keeping.
May work on special projects as assigned by Location
Manager.Conduct personal and professional development: Train for
cross-functional job duties. Stay abreast of technology and plant
leader concepts and methods. Establish and pursue development
goals. Provide coaching and assistance to others on their learning

- Operations Management: Manage a significant operational area
with organizational structures and jobs designed to meet results.
Organize, clarify, align and manage goals and priorities. Plans,
aligns, ensures accountability, communicates effectively, manages

- Leadership & Direction:
- Communicate the actions needed to implement the function's
strategy and business plan within the team, explain the
relationship to the broader organization's mission, vision and
values, motivate staff and develop workforce plans to determine
future needs, how to best source candidates, etc.
- Attract and retain qualified workers leverage and value
individual differences and talents and manage work teams
effectively.
- Performance management and development process utilized to
coach and provide feedback to employees. Continuous improvement,
open communication, recognizing and rewarding achievements, and
resolving conflicts.
- Health, Safety & Environment: Ensure business activities and
individuals (e.g. employees, contractors, and visitors) within the
area of responsibility adhere to the organization's safety
policies, procedures & programs to safeguard the environment,
protect the wellbeing of individuals and minimize business
risk.
- Financial and Budgeting: Achievement of annual plan and budget
business targets. This includes, but is not limited to, identifying
and interpreting local issues and trends, developing production and
workforce projections, and developing and submitting capital and
operational budgets for approval. Interprets and applies key
financial indicators to make better business decisions. Makes
well-balanced decisions regarding expenditures that take into
account multiple considerations.
- Effective grower support: Local optimization and on-time
completion of production plans. Achievement of quality plan
standards and maintain high productivity. Good working
relationships with others including growers, contract conditioners,
local permitting agencies, crop improvement agencies, vendors,
supply chain and production contacts, etc.
- Community Relations and Customer Focus: Positive community
relations maintained via coordination and participation in public
relations activities. Builds strong customer relationships and
delivers customer centric solutions. Sale and use of Corteva
products promoted whenever possible.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance: Compliance with federal and
state regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, Labor Laws, etc.). Compliance
with production operations, company policies and guidelines. Input
into production operations policies and guidelines. Adherence to
Quality Plan, including assuring up-to-date quality system
documentation is maintained. Plant & field policies and standard
operating procedures (e.g., work hours, allocation of acreage,
etc.) developed and implemented.QualificationsRequirements:What
expertise have you grown? What do you bring to the table?
- Bachelor's degree in Agri Business or a related subject matter
preferred.
- 7-10 years of on-the-job work experience managing and leading a
production facility, that includes supervisory or leadership
responsibilities.
- Competencies:
- Ability to manage work processes, balance workload, train &
motivate employees are key responsibilities for this role.
- Strong communication skills. Demonstrated application of human
resources / people management practices. Ability to lead leaders
and influence/collaborate cross-functionally.
- Knowledge of production agriculture and production plant
operations. Ability to lead leaders and influence/collaborate

workflow, equipment, facilities, etc.). Information scanning and
systems/data management ability is continually growing in
importance.
- Knowledge of Seed Processing/Conditioning/Quality. Knowledge of

skills. Priority management and the ability to adjust quickly to
changing conditions. Workforce flexibility. Good verbal
communication skills. Regular interaction taking place in a high
traffic & activity plant/warehouse areas, plus frequent visits to
