The Manager of Sustainability will be responsible for setting the vision and strategy to implement the organization's plan for a regenerative future within Landscape Forms. In support of our values, as well as clear direction from the Chief Strategy Officer, you will work collaboratively with the Executive Leadership Team, department heads, and teams across the organization to build a culture of sustainability across all our stakeholders.

How You Contribute

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each principal accountability satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

• Create and own the implementation and communication of the Landscape Forms sustainability strategy
• Be a strong ambassador for sustainability for Landscape Forms key stakeholder groups by promoting and explaining the organization's sustainability philosophy
• Build awareness, adoption, and recognition for high impact sustainability initiatives
• Create and maintain program budgets and schedules
• Develop methodologies to assess the viability or success of sustainability initiatives
• Address wide ranging areas of sustainability impact such as energy use, resource conservation, recycling, pollution reduction, waste elimination, transportation, education supply chain, and product design within the overall company framework.
• Lead cross functional teams to successfully execute strategic and tactical initiatives
• Develop project proposals, sustainability reports, grant applications and presentations
• Create, maintain, and report out sustainability metrics (energy, water, carbon, material usage)
• Work closely with the Executive Leadership Team, People Department and Operations Teams to continue to build sustainability into the Landscape Forms culture
• Serve as a company representative for industry organizations like Landscape Architecture Foundation, American Society of Landscape Architects and Southwest Michigan First. Qualifications/Criteria for Success
  • Corporate sustainability leadership experience (preferably in manufacturing and/or premium brands)
  • Creative problem solving
  • Demonstrated success in being a strong ambassador for sustainability - ability to inspire, influence and catalyze a movement
  • Ability to embody exceptional integrity, optimism, expertise, and collaborative spirit amongst both internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience in researching, vetting and critically thinking on the topics of sustainability standards, goals, certifications, and metrics
  • Demonstrated success in creating proposals, reports, grant applications and presentations
  • Proven history demonstrating initiative and self-direction
  • Open to continual learning to operate in a competitive design and manufacturing environment
    Work Environment and Physical Requirements
    
    This is a hybrid position, based in Kalamazoo, Michigan, allowing you to work from home and in the office. This position does require some travel. The environment is mostly office but may include a shop environment that is noisy and dirty.
