JOB DESCRIPTION: Program Director
STATUS: Full-time, Salaried
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Program Director is responsible for
overseeing the implementation of programs as detailed in funding
proposals and contracts. Responsibilities include supporting the
development, deployment, and continuous improvement of all Healthy
Homes Coalition service programs, including: The Ready by Five
Program, the Lead Hazard Control Program, the Priority Health
Asthma Housing Intervention Program, and the Participatory
Budgeting Grand Rapids Program.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage program budgets and prepare and submit program
reports.
- Oversee the collection and implementation of program
data.
- Support the successful completion of performance metrics as set
forth in program contracts.
- Assist with grant writing and reporting as requested.
- Maintain accurate records in Salesforce and supporting paper
files.
- Review regular and routine reports to assist with managing
production.
- Assist with the development, deployment, and continuous
improvement of programs.
- Provide routine supervision of program data.
- Manage and report on program data.
- Provide leadership for those assisting with direct services,
with special attention to home visiting program partners.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement activities
related to programming, including program and budget efficiency and
effectiveness.
- Facilitate the development and revision of program materials to
promote continuous quality improvement.
- Raise awareness of and advocate for healthier housing for
children by sharing stories from the field.
- Promote healthier housing for children when networking with
other professionals.
- Support opportunities to advocate and advance equity in the
space of social and environmental justice.
- Encourage parent engagement in advocacy.
- Serve as spokesperson for the organization at public and/or
media events as requested.
- Participate in resource development activities as
requested.
- Participate in all required training and achieve learning
objectives in a timely manner.
- Know boundaries of legal knowledge when consulting with
families on their rights and responsibilities.
ROLE EXPECTATIONS:
- Must be comfortable speaking in front of others to further
advance the organization's mission.
- Content knowledge of children's environmental health that is up
to date with the latest scientific evidence.
- Working knowledge of housing programs and policies and how
local, state, and regional systems work.
- Cross-cultural competency to effectively engage with people
from various cultures.
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with other
organizations and contractors.
- Deliver training to other professionals in a manner that
supports their competency and skill development.
- The work schedule is generally between 8:30am-5:30pm, Monday -
Thursday, and 8:30am-12:30pm Friday, with occasional evening and
weekend hours required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of Associates of Arts or Science, or equivalent
combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a professional work
environment requiring project leadership and team
collaboration.
- Successful track record of program management.
- Ability to work remotely and/or with minimal supervision while
being accountable to organizational leadership and the
team.
- Ability to develop and maintain collaborative working
relationships with other organizations and contractors.
- Ability to deliver training to other professionals.
- Ability to manage and interpret incoming data.
- Ability to meet program objectives and deadlines.
- Ability to manage complex, multifaceted projects.
- Ability to adapt and execute changes as needed and communicate
those changes with all stakeholders.
- Must be culturally competent and committed to equity and
justice.
- Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to
detail.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent leadership skills.
- Working knowledge of customer relationship management (CRM)
programs.
- Solution-based problem-solving skills.
- Dedication to continuous professional growth.

- Efficient time-management skills.
- Experience in the non-profit sector preferred.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS (optional):
- Bachelor's degree in health, social services, sciences, public
administration, or similar degree.
- Program or project development and/or management
experience.
- Spanish-speaking.
- Grant writing experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to bend over and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods, using a keyboard and
phone.
- Ability to communicate clearly by phone and verbal
presentation.
