Job Description:
This position is located at the Randallia campus and is part of
our inpatient therapy team Summary Provides professional patient
care through the practice of occupational therapy, including
evaluation, treatment planning, implementation, and documentation.
Develops and executes purposeful activity programs to support the
rehabilitation of patients, as prescribed by a physician. Therapy
activities are selected based on medical orders, clinical findings,
patient history, and individual interests and needs. Plans and
leads therapeutic, educational, or diversional events to enhance
patient outcomes. Collaborates with and supervises Occupational
Therapy Assistants (COTA/OTA) in delivering assigned treatment
plans. Ensures timely and accurate completion of documentation and
billing. All care is delivered in accordance with departmental
standards, Joint Commission regulations, State Practice Acts, and
American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) guidelines.
Education Must be a graduate of an accredited school of
Occupational Therapy. A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required
for graduates prior to 1/1/2002. A Master’s degree is required for
those graduating after 1/1/2002. International candidates must hold
a minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited program. A
Master's degree is preferred. Licensure/Certification Must hold or
be eligible for licensure in the state where services will be
provided within 90 days of employment. CPR certification is
required within the first 90 days. Licensure and certifications
must be kept current. Membership in the AOTA is preferred. A valid
driver’s license is required when operating a company vehicle. If
using a personal vehicle, proof of insurance is also required.
Addendums Required for specific nursing roles: 0153 Nurse Leader,
0249 Registry RN, 0252 Registered Nurse, 0235 Advanced Registered
Nurse, and 0236 Expert Registered Nurse. Please refer to the job
description page on Parkview’s intranet for details. Experience
Work experience preferred, but not required, beyond clinical
training included in the educational program. Other Qualifications
Must be able to lift 50 pounds; 100 pounds with assistance. Strong
verbal and written communication skills required. Must be flexible
and willing to work at various locations as needed.
