Job Description:
Job Title: Respiratory Therapist 1 Profession: Respiratory Care
Specialty: Agency Staff Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per
Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years License: State Respiratory Therapist
License Certifications: RRT, NRP, BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Must live
within one hour of the facility - Required Certifications: RRT,
NRP, BLS, ACLS - MI RT license must be in hand prior to start date
Description: Applies scientific knowledge and therapy to practical
clinical problems of respiratory care. Acts as a team member in the
delivery of respiratory services under medical direction. Performs
a wide range of procedures related to the care of patients with
general and specialized respiratory-related needs. Provides care to
patients in pediatric areas as needed. Evaluates and determines
respiratory care needs, making appropriate recommendations and
changes according to policy and protocol guidelines. Assesses the
effectiveness of treatment and documents results according to
department and legal standards. Completes and documents required
education and competencies within designated timeframes. Maintains
competency in areas of accountability. Ensures accurate and timely
completion of all necessary documentation. Facilitates transitions
for patients to appropriate referral services or home. Provides
education to patients and families regarding respiratory issues.
Instructs and trains other respiratory care staff, nursing staff,
and medical personnel regarding patient needs and respiratory care
services. Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk
mitigation measures. Completes all position and unit safety-related
competencies and requirements timely. Performs other duties as
assigned.
