Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 Year License: Valid State License Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Telemetry experience - Experience with trauma surgery, bariatric surgery, and abdominal surgery Description: The position is for a Registered Nurse in Medical Surgical/Telemetry. The shift is days, working three 12-hour shifts each week. Every other weekend commitment is required. Holiday work is required every other holiday. The unit has a total of 46 beds. The main patient population includes post-surgical patients such as trauma surgery, post-bariatric surgery, and post-abdominal surgery. Overflow for medically complex and cardiac patients is also managed. The unit provides a wide range of services and support, including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Social Services. New hires should be prepared to provide care for a diverse patient population, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Skills required include administration of medications and management of intravenous lines. Experience in managing emergency situations and applying isolation precautions is necessary. The ideal candidate will have strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
