This position is for a registered nurse specializing in telemetry.
The unit is a 54-bed cardiac telemetry unit. Patients are primarily
monitored on a cardiac monitor. They are monitored in a remote
telemetry room and closely supervised on the unit. The patient
population includes heart failure, heart attacks, strokes,
arrhythmias, and chest pain. Cardiac drips are administered as part
of the care. Overflow medical patients may also be accepted when
necessary. PCA support is available on the unit. The
patient-to-nurse ratio may increase based on workload. Weekend
shifts are required every other weekend. Holiday shifts require
working 2 out of 3 holidays. Travelers must live at least 50 miles
away from the facility. Candidates must have experience managing
cardiac and vasoactive drips. The role involves interpreting
dysrhythmias and arterial blood gas readings. Effective wound care
and management of tracheostomy patients is expected. Travelers
should be comfortable floating to similar units within the
hospital. Candidates are required to complete training modules
before starting the assignment. Professional conduct is essential,
and all travelers must adhere to the workplace standards.
