travelers accepted Description: This unit is a 54-bed cardiac
telemetry unit. It is the main unit for cardiac telemetry patients.
The majority of patients are on cardiac monitors. Patients are
monitored in a remote telemetry room and closely on the unit. The
unit manages cardiac drips. Patient population includes heart
failure, heart attacks (STEMI and NSTEMI), and strokes requiring
cardiac monitoring. Patients with cardiac arrhythmias and chest
pain are also treated here. The unit may admit overflow medical
patients as needed. Travelers are required to work every other
weekend. Holiday coverage is also required, with travelers expected
to work 2 out of 3 holidays. Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
but efforts will be made to accommodate requests. The expected
patient-to-nurse ratios may increase to 1:7 until staffing
improves. Daily census can reach around 40 patients.
Interdisciplinary support includes therapy, respiratory services,
phlebotomy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and unit
secretaries. Skills required include blood product administration
and cardiac telemetry management. Experience in managing cardiac
and vasoactive drips is necessary. Familiarity with charting
systems is required. The charting system currently in use is
Cerner. Candidates must agree to obtain all required certifications
prior to start. Professional conduct is of utmost importance, as
