background required License: Indiana or compact RN license required
Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - 2 years of Stepdown or
Med/Tele experience at a similar size hospital required - BLS
through AHA required - ACLS required Description: General job
duties include providing patient care in a progressive care unit.
Proficiency in drip titration is necessary for those experienced in
this area. If experience in drip titration is lacking, the nurse
may be assigned to MedSurg/tele units. Equipment utilized in the
unit includes EPIC, PYXIS, Philips defibrillator, and Philips
bedside monitors. The nurse will never work alone. Three weekend
shifts are required within a 4-week schedule. Floating to other
units is required when needed, with the expectation of floating to
similar units. When floated to MedSurg, the nurse will maintain a
1:3 patient ratio. The bed size for this unit is 12 beds. The nurse
to patient ratio in the progressive care unit is 3-4:1, and 4-5:1
in MedSurg. Dress code consists of Caribbean blue scrubs. Travelers
will be required to participate in specific training and
orientation programs. Competence in equipment and protocols is
essential for success in this role. This position supports a
