Registered Nurse (RN) | Progressive Care Unit Location: Kalamazoo, MI Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,074 per week Shift Information: Days - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/9/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Kalamazoo, Michigan, 49007! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 Years in PCU/Step Down License: Valid RN License Certifications: BLS & either ONC or ONS Certification Must-Have: - Experience in administering chemotherapy via IV - Proficiency in starting IVs - Familiarity with EPIC for documentation Description: This step-down unit cares for general medical and oncology patients. It provides care for patients transitioning from higher acuity to a lower level of care. The nurse will be responsible for administering chemotherapy via IV and starting IVs. Familiarity with medical equipment such as vital sign towers and IV pumps is essential. The nurse will care for a patient ratio of 1:4-6, with a potential for support staff to assist if ratios increase. Charge RN duties do not typically include patient assignments, and chemotherapy admissions can decrease assignment ratios. Weekend shifts will be required, working every other weekend. Flexibility to float to other medical-surgical areas may be necessary. All RTO requests will need to be discussed with the manager on-site. The unit is supported by various interdisciplinary services including physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy. Common patient diagnoses include sepsis, renal failure, respiratory failure, cancer, heart failure, diabetes, and DKA.
