Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A registered nurse with stepdown experience is needed to provide exceptional patient care on a flexible acuity unit. This contract opportunity is ideal for experienced professionals looking to work nights in a dynamic clinical environment. The position offers a consistent 3x12-hour night shift schedule supporting a well-structured teamwork model. Key Responsibilities: Deliver high-quality nursing care to stepdown unit patients with varying acuity levels Monitor and assess patient conditions, implementing care plans effectively Utilize electronic charting through Cerner for accurate and timely documentation Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes Adhere to unit policies, including attendance and scheduling protocols Participate in holiday staffing and floating to the Medical-Surgical level as needed Qualifications and Experience: Current RN license with at least 1 year of stepdown or critical care experience (no first-time nurses accepted) Required certifications: ACLS, BLS; NIHSS certification preferred Ability to work night shifts (1900-0730) and every other weekend Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (local candidates are not eligible) Pending licenses accepted Proficient in Cerner electronic health record system Location Overview:Situated in Elkhart, Indiana, the area offers a blend of small-town charm and access to regional amenities.
