Job Description

  • Performing routine sample analysis, reagent preparation, instrument calibration and other related activities to support Global Therapeutics Research
  • Develop and qualify methods (extraction and LC/MS components) to perform routine bioanalysis on samples containing small molecules or peptides in biological matrices.
  • Preparing solutions needed for general analytical use, such as reagents, buffers, and mobile phases
  • Verifying the calibration of laboratory balances, pH meters, refrigerators, and freezers on a daily/weekly basis as required
  • Ordering needed supplies to keep an appropriate stock of routine and specialized consumables
  • Sorting and logging all samples as needed into our database
  • Data entry into compound database, verification and handling, record keeping, in accordance with scientific protocol, applicable Standard Operating Procedures and Good Laboratory Practices
  • Accurate and timely recording of data in databooks and electronic notebooks

    Qualifications

    The Ideal Candidate would possess:
    • Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
    • Excellent communication (oral and written), attention to detail, and an analytical mind-set
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
    • Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
    • Bioanalytical chemistry experience including methods development, qualification and troubleshooting
    • Experience with LC-MS/MS equipment. Experience with UPLC and Sciex triple quad mass specs highly desired
    • Experience with and skilled use of micropipette and microbalance
    • Experience using automated liquid handling systems is desired
    • Experience using electronic laboratory notebooks is desired
    • Experience with Watson LIMS and Analyst is desired

      Minimum Qualifications
      • Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or other related degree concentration, or equivalent directly-related experience (two years of directly related industry experience is equivalent to one full-time year of college in related major)
      • At least one year analytical chemistry laboratory experience
      • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
