What You Will Do You will perform a wide variety of technical work in planning and design of embedded hardware electronic circuits and PCB design which will lead to new or improved products/product lines under marketing, cost, time and regulatory constraints for medical devices that supports our Orthopaedic Customer needs. You will support creation of embedded systems requirements/architecture for new products leading to engineering PCB assembly board-spins/bring-ups and finally to a finished product. You will, through design process, complete analysis for electromagnetic compliance (EMC), reliability, safety, cost and design for manufacturing/assembly/test. You will assist in evaluating vendor capability to support development and test fixture development. You will work with Technical Leadership and project management team on breaking down work, scheduling, risks, and project updates. You will interact with customers to support determining requirements and validation of requirements. You will plan and conduct engineering research, design, development and/or manufacturing engineering projects as assigned. You will monitor and control progress of projects to ensure sound application of engineering principles are used and design intent is being followed/achieved. You will coordinate with other units, vendors and senior managers as needed to ensure specific cost, time and/or regulatory standards are met. You will communicate with customers by phone and/or in person to resolve product issues and/or coordinate on special orders. You will have administrative authority for engineering drawings, BOM and engineering change orders. You will submit periodic reports on assigned topics to appropriate personnel. You will train others on functionally related topics. You will evaluate the results of projects and provide manufacturing guidance/assistance as needed. What You Need B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field 4+ years of equivalent experience Must be able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and have the ability to understand geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing. Demonstrated electrical problem solving skills. Demonstrated experience with ProE or CAD. Demonstrated technical design and problem solving skills.
