and fulfilling life for our customers. Job DescriptionFawn River
Cultivation Company is seeking a purchasing agent to join our
Supply Chain team in Constantine, MI. In this role, you will direct
the material functions in a high volume, team-oriented environment.
You will be responsible for the overall control and movement of
materials, including planning, procurement, storage, distribution,
scheduling, and inventory of raw materials and finished good
products.
- Perform all processes and programs as it relates to inventory
management, purchasing, receiving, and distribution operations
- Engage new suppliers to gather on-boarding documentation to
ensure supplier set-up in timely fashion, working closely with
sales, marketing, and accounting
- Assist in administrative supply chain functions of RFQ,
material catalogs, receiving, and accounts receivable
- Address invoice holds and resolve issues such as but not
limited to incorrect receiving, overbilling, lack of funds,
incorrect billing, etc.
- Manage scheduling and procurement to ensure material
availability to meet weekly and daily schedules
- Track, report, and escalate supplier issues and coordinate
resolution between internal stakeholders, sourcing & category
leads, and suppliers
- Reconcile PO, Receipt, and Invoice for payment and communicate
with supplier, planning, sourcing & category mgmt., quality,
requestors, manufacturing & warehousing, and accounts payable to
resolve open issues in a timely manner
- Mitigate Out of Stock SKU's
- Communicate with suppliers and internal stakeholders on a
regular basis to maintain effective relationships and ensure
on-time deliveries in a cost-effective manner
- Develop methods and policies that contribute to the most
efficient, safe and economical movement of materials throughout our
facilities and network
- Plan and organize material handling and warehousing functions
to best utilize resources, optimize material flows, and mitigate
stock out risk
- Conduct routine cycle count and physical inventory cadences to
ensure inventory accuracy
- Execute sourcing strategy consistent with corporate procurement
objectives to acquire new product and materials
- Participate in network inventory management, including product
lifecycle, turns, aging stock, redesign impacts, and
obsolescence
- Investigate and pursue benchmark opportunities and cost saving
initiatives
- Maintain inventory, product catalog, and other API functions of
our seed to sale software system
- Any other duties assigned by the ControllerQualifications:
- Experience in a highly regulated industry preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Motivated by fast-paced, rapidly changing environments, and
unexpected circumstances
- Ability to adhere to high standards, strict policies &
procedures, and regulations
- Highly organized with strong analytical skills and attention to
detail and accuracy
- A customer orientation - understanding & monitoring the needs
of both internal and external customers
- A love for problem-solving: preventing and solving issues,
understanding, and mitigating problems
- A logistics person with a keen eye for continuous process
improvement and optimization
- APICS certification a plus
- Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean manufacturing processes
- Must be 21 years of age or older to apply
- Must comply with all legal or company regulations for working
in the industrySalary Pay Based on Experience: $60,000-80,000
