Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Architecture, required; Master's degree in Architecture, preferred AIA Licensure, required; State of Michigan, preferred Minimum 5 years of facilities design experience, required K-12 educational facility and commercial building design experience, preferred Proficient in AutoCAD 2017, required; Revit experience, preferred Strong and effective communication skills, required Proven creative and effective problem-solving skills a must Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, required Responsibilities: Provide building systems that employ construction techniques that are technically complete and correct within the established design parameters, on-time with schedules and within construction budgets. Review Owner's approved program statement and monitor design process from conception to construction administration to ensure consistency of design idea. Independently perform assignments and arrive at solutions by receiving instructions on assignment objectives. Responsible for coordinating the architectural with all disciplines and consultants from design development documents phase through project completion. Monitor and mentor preparation of technical drawings of Architectural Interns and other new Architectural staff members. Develop cost estimates when required. Ensure compliance of construction detail documentation and coordinate schedule of drawing for all contract documents to quality control and best practices. Communicate with the client, other disciplines and consultants as required. Assist design architect in designing a building that meets applicable codes and standards Review and coordinate shop drawings. Attend field reviews, on-site meetings and project meetings and coordinate schedule reviews and submit samples. Engage in team meetings to resolve project issues and coordinate to schedule adherence of technical issues. Review accuracy of calculations, estimates, plans and completed reports. Contact municipal building department and government agency officials for approvals. Interact with building officials during project permitting and construction phases. Prepare or assist in preparation of construction administration phase documents. Assist Construction Administrator in conduction of periodic on-site inspection prior to substantial completion. Maintain project manual and conduct and document on-site observations and reviews. Draft observation reports during project close-out efforts.
