Job Description:
2nd Shift DH Medical Lab Scientist Needed for Microbiology Dept
in Fort Wayne, IN Our client, a large hospital in Northeast
Indiana, is seeking a Direct-Hire Medical Laboratory Scientist for
their microbiology laboratories and clinics in Fort Wayne, IN. The
Medical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for accurately
performing medical laboratory tests following established
laboratory policies and procedures and adhering to performance and
quality standards. Shift: 1:00pm - 9:30 pm w/weekend rotations for
total of 32 hours/week Job Functions: Responsible for: Clinical
instrument maintenance New test and instrumentation development.
Keeping the laboratory in continuous readiness for inspection.
Consequences of his/her own decisions Provides guidance to other
laboratory co-workers. Trains other laboratory co- workers Actively
participates in the overall functioning of the clinical laboratory
Assumes leadership or member roles on committees and projects.
Possesses an extensive knowledge of techniques, instruments, and
the basic medical sciences. Education & Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required Completion of NAACLS-accredited Clinical
Laboratory Science program 2 year Associates degree in Medical
Laboratory Technology (MLT) or 4 year Bachelor's degree in Medical
